MixerOS
Mixer OS is a macOS workflow operating system built for professional freelance mixing engineers. It combines a central song database (MixTable), automated task management, weekly planning, and background Pro Tools bounce automation into a single unified tool. The product eliminates the repetitive file management, manual status tracking, and session naming work that interrupts creative flow. Designed as a desktop app with a floating action window, it mirrors every status change as Finder tags — so the filesystem always reflects reality without any extra effort.

Problem
Freelance mixing engineers were spending significant time every week on work that had nothing to do with mixing — creating folders manually, tracking song stages across spreadsheets and memory, bouncing files through the same Pro Tools clicks on every project, and losing creative momentum every time a client needed deliverables. Unlike engineers at major studios who have full support teams, freelancers had no system. Everything lived in their head.
Outcome
A fully designed macOS application spanning onboarding, a live song dashboard, project-level MixTable, calendar planning, and a dark-mode-first UI with liquid glass aesthetics. The design targets saving engineers 3+ hours per week, delivering projects 20% faster, and eliminating missed deliverables entirely — giving independent mixers the same operational leverage as the biggest studios in the industry.
Final Design
Adapt your learning experience, stay accountable with peers, and keep learning.

MixTable
A live song database that tracks every project's status, version, and location in one glance, eliminating the mental overhead of managing dozens of songs across multiple drives..

The Command Wheel
A pin-able, always-on-top control hub that puts every critical workflow trigger one click away, without ever pulling the engineer out of their Pro Tools session.

Weekly Agenda + Task Center
A planning system that auto-generates tasks at every mix stage and surfaces what needs to happen today, so nothing falls through the cracks and every deadline gets met.
The Process
To understand the scale of the retention problem, I analyzed industry trends and platform behavior
Impact
Recognized for strategic thinking and system-level design
I successfully presented this project at the NYIT Thesis Winter Show 2025, where it sparked discussions around AI trust, learner autonomy, and retention-driven UX.
Reflections
This project changed how I think about personalization!
Designing for behavior, not assumptions
Designing for a highly specialized creative professional required constant calibration between automation and control — and between expert UX and the broader ecosystem around them.
